Sadatomo’s hobby was breeding new plant varieties. He published his results for irises in a book entitled Hanashōbu Baiyo Roku (Iris Cultivation Record). This book had several different versions published in the 1840s. Nineteen pages showing some of his iris cultivars are included in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
